FAQ

What kind of food does Mussel Bar serve?
All day, we serve  mussels & frites, wood-fired tarts (Belgian pizzas) with seasonal toppings, salads, soups, sandwiches and a few meat and fish entrees.  We also run daily specials and at breakfast we add our EGG menu.

Local, seasonal, farm-to-table, etc?
What else would Wiedmaier do?  We love our farmers and post their links (if they have one) on the LOCAL page.  Are you a farmer that would like to Chef RW to know about your product, please write us.

Where can customers park?
There are 2 public parking areas.  The covered garage is right behind Mussel Bar (accessible from either Elm St. or Bethesda Ave.) and the other is at the intersection of Woodmont and Bethesda Avenues. Parking meters in front of the restaurant are for only one hour.  Bethesda Row is offering Valet Parking around the corner on Elm Street in front of Le Pain Quotidien.

What is the Wait Time for Walk-Ins?
Mussel Bar is a walk-in establishment (no reservations).  Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings do get rolling early and will require longer waits.  Mussel Bar has a full service bar and customers can wait here until their table is ready and/or until their entire party has arrived.  Please note that accommodating large parties can be difficult, especially on weekend nights. When spring arrives, there will be large picnic tables and umbrellas outside for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Will you consider donating a MB dining certificate or food to our charitable event?
Chef RW is very committed to helping many varied organizations locally and nationally.  Mussel Bar accepts donation requests by email (info@musselbar.com), please do not call the restaurant or mail/drop off paperwork at the restaurant.  If donation requests from the same organization are submitted to some or all of RW’s restaurants, we will choose which RW restaurant to donate from (not more than one donation for a given two year period).  As Mussel Bar does not have private dining spaces with an accessory kitchen, we will be unable to provide food and labor for any outside events.  Chef RW’s other restaurants do provide food and labor from Marcel’s, Brasserie Beck and BRABO for selected charitable events held nearby these locations.
